Scholarship Program
AWS Certification Prep + Testing
At the end of the program, you’ll take the AWS 3G and 4G certification tests, including the required bend test.
(This test uses a welded plate that is bent to evaluate the strength and quality of your weld.)
After you pass:
AWS mails you your official certification card. You’ll then take it to NYC DOB to complete your final welding license process.
Class Schedule Options
You must commit to the full 3-month program.
Choose the session that fits your schedule:

Morning: 8 AM – 11 AM

Midday: 12 PM – 4 PM

Evening: 5 PM – 9 PM
We make it flexible so work, childcare, or personal obligations don’t stop your future.
What the Scholarship Includes
OSHA Training
Safety comes first. You’ll complete OSHA and SST card training so you meet NYC site requirements.
Intro to Welding (2 Weeks)
A hands-on introduction to welding equipment, safety, materials, and foundational techniques.
Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
This module teaches you how to weld in:

1G position

2G position
-
3G position
-
4G position
(Each “G” is a test position used to evaluate your ability to weld on different angles and surfaces. I can provide illustrations if you want to add visuals.)
Every “G” you complete is a formal test — a clear checkpoint showing whether you can perform in that position.
