BOTT Foundation Opens Free Welding Training to Fill NYC Skills Gap

As one of five organizations awarded a share of the $1.4 million East Brooklyn Workforce Development Fund, the BOTT Foundation will offer its next cohort free of cost to 25 students. The training leads to welding certifications required by the New York City Department of Buildings — opening doors to roles at major employers like the MTA, Con Edison and National Grid. This initiative combines skill development, certification, job placement support and community investment — giving residents a path to stable wages while helping meet the labor shortage in the construction and trades sectors across NYC.
