The Brighter Opportunities Through Trade (BOTT) Foundation is taking action to address New York’s skilled labor shortage through a free workforce development program. Announced at the Brooklyn Built launch event on September 27, the initiative connects East New York residents with hands-on training in welding, construction, and other high-demand trades.

“We don’t just prepare people for opportunities — we grab the opportunities and hand them back to our community,” said founder Leslie Lambert.
Funded by the East Brooklyn Workforce Development Fund, the program offers welding certification through Royalty Welding Academy, industry-recognized credentials, job placement, and contract opportunities.
With strong support from local leaders and organizations, BOTT is bridging the gap between talent and opportunity, creating lasting pathways to stability and generational success.
